New Screencaps: David Tennant and Olivia Colman Talk Broadchurch on ITV Daybreak

David Tennant and Olivia Colman appeared in a pre-recorded interview on ITV Daybreak this morning. The show's Entertainments Editor Richard Arnold chatted to the pair about their new eight part drama series Broadchurch which begins in ITV at 9pm tonight.

"A young boy is found murdered..." David explained of the drama

"Found dead, " Olivia quickly corrected him. David conceded that they shouldn't give too much away at this stage, but described the series as a 'proper emotional drama'.

Olivia talked about her emotional response to the storyline. She confessed to being prone to weeping anyway, in cinemas, for instance, but said that the performances by Andrew Buchan and Jodie Whittaker who play the parents of the dead boy had her openly sobbing and she cried in more scenes than she was probably meant to.

Olivia plays DS Ellie Miller in the drama, who comes from the heart of the community. David explained that his character, DI Alec Hardy was "a flinthearted, emotionally retarded outsider". "Well cast! " he joked.

The actors then related a story that happened while filming where two cars had a minor bump on the road close to the set because the drivers were too busy staring at David, but were then too embarrassed to exchange insurance details and just drove off. They joked at David still being able to stop traffic. "Fortunately," David assured viewers, "Nobody was hurt"
