Red Nose Day 2013: Do Something Funny For Money

Join the BBC tonight for Red Nose Day 2013, this year celebrating twenty-five years on our screens.

Red Nose Day is a day like no other when the whole country gets together to do something funny for money and change countless lives in the process.

Some of the biggest names in comedy and entertainment get together for an incredible night of TV, with exclusive sketches, music and stand up performances, fundraising stunts and special mini episodes from some of your favourite shows, including Call The Midwife and Masterchef.

Of course, the aim of it all is to help to raise cash and transform lives across the UK and Africa. Last Red Nose Day raised a fantastic £108,436,227 and that money is doing incredible things around the world. This year there will be powerful reminders of the serious side of Red Nose Day, with moving appeal films from John Bishop, Brenda Blethyn, Rob Brydon, Davina McCall, Bill Nighy and One Direction. Up and down the country people will be taking part in all manner of events in their schools, workplaces, pubs and clubs to raise cash for the charities that Red Nose Day supports.

The TV marathon kicks off at 7pm on BBC One and runs into the early hours of Saturday morning. Along the way there will be a veritable tag team of presenters and special guests, including Lenny Henry, Michael McIntyre, Jonathan Ross, Claudia Winkleman, Davina McCall, Dermot O’Leary and Jack Whitehall. David Tennant will be joining proceedings from 11pm:

Jonathan Ross and Jack Whitehall continue in the hot seat as they find themselves promoted to the flagship channel for good behaviour, where they're joined in the studio by everyone's favourite ex-Doctor, David Tennant. Citizen Khan travels down from Birmingham to be with us, and we premiere another Comic Relief spectacular courtesy of David Walliams, in which we meet all the celebrities that he's been 'intimate' with over the last 12 months.

And to get you in the mood here's David Tennant and Catherine Tate in their classic Red Nose day sketch from 2007

  1. I have seen clips from Red Nose Day on Youtube. I live it! I wish we could watch it on television in the states.
