Twenty Twelve Scoops South Bank Sky Arts Comedy Award



The BBC Two sitcom Twenty Twelve have just won the Best Comedy prize in today's South Bank Sky Arts Awards. The award ceremony, hosted by Melvin Bragg, is taking place right now at London's Dorchester Hotel. The comedy show beat off competition from Sky Atlantic shows Alan Partridge: Welcome To The Places of My Life and Hunderby to lift the award which was presented by Jo Brand.

Sky Arts announced the win in a tweet:

Spoof fly-on-the-wall documentary Twenty Twelve was written and directed by John Morton for the BBC and follows the trials of the fictional Olympic Deliverance Committee in the approach to the 2012 London Olympic Games. The cast included Hugh Bonneville, Olivia Colman and Jessica Hynes, while David Tennant provided the voiceover.

The awards will be televised on Sky Arts 1 on Thursday 14th March at 9.30pm
