From the BBC America Press Centre
BBC AMERICA celebrates the Seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy, in a new special of Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited. McCoy (The Hobbit) played the part from 1987 to 1989 but reprised the role in Doctor Who: The Movie in 1996. The special begins with Sylvester McCoy, lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat, Seventh Doctor companions Sophie Aldred (Ace) and Bonnie Langford (Mel Bush), among others, examining the darker side of the Seventh Doctor, viewing some of his surreal adventures and discussing his most scientific foe, The Rani. The special is followed by the Seventh Doctor story Remembrance of the Daleks, in which the Doctor and his companion Ace arrive in 1960s London, where they are caught up in a fierce battle on Earth between two violently opposing factions of Daleks, who will stop at nothing to destroy one another. Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited – The Seventh Doctor premieres Saturday, July 27 at 7:00pm ET/PT.
