Chris Chibnall: "David Tennant's US Accent Is Amazing"



Chris Chibnall has told the Radio Times that he has heard that David Tennant's US accent is amazing.
David is to star in Gracepoint, the US version of Broadchurch, as detective Emmet Carver. The character, whilst based on his Broadchurch character Alec Hardy, is American and David has been receiving vocal coaching via skype in preparation for the role. 

Gracepoint follows the impact on a small Californian seaside community of the tragic and unexplained death of a young boy whose body is found on the beach below cliffs. The cast also includes Nick Nolte, Anna Gunn and Jacki Weaver. Original series creator Chris Chibnall is on board as executive producer and has written the first episode, and multiple episodes will be directed by James Strong (Doctor Who, Broadchurch).

Production is scheduled to continue in various locations around the Greater Victoria area until late May. The series will premiere as part of the Fox TV 2014-15 series.
