BAFTA Radio Times Audience Award - Just 24 Hours Left To Vote

There’s just 24 hours left to place your vote in the BAFTA Radio Times Audience Award at the Arqiva British Academy Television Awards 2014, the only award in the ceremony that is chosen by members of the public.

Two of David Tennant's projects are represented in the shortlist for the audience vote:

Broadchurch (ITV)
The most tweeted about crime drama of last year saw David Tennant and Olivia Colman lead a powerful ensemble cast in Chris Chibnall's eight part series which followed the impact of the murder of a child in a coastal Dorset town. With the investigation unfolding over the duration of the series, Broadchurch became event TV with audiences tuning in faithfully every Monday evening to try to work out the mystery of who killed Danny Latimer for themselves. Since the original broadcast, Broadchurch has been aired by broadcasters all over the world, and an American remake (also starring David Tennant) will air on Fox this autumn. David Tennant and Olivia Colman are among key cast members returning for the second UK series which goes into production in a few weeks time.

Doctor Who - The Day Of The Doctor (BBC One)
The hotly anticipated 50th Anniversary episode of Doctor Who saw the return of David Tennant to the TARDIS to join forces with his successor Matt Smith and a previously unknown incarnation of the Doctor played by John Hurt. Fans were treated to some old foes, Rose Tyler as never seen before and a cameo by the Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker, as well as a tantalising glimpse into the future courtesy of Peter Capaldi. The episode was the biggest ever global simulcast, playing on TVs, online and in cinemas on Saturday 23rd November, meaning that the concluding line up of all incarnations of the Doctor must have simultaneously brought a tear to millions of eyes around the world.

Other programmes on the shortlist are:
  • Breaking Bad
  • Educating Yorkshire
  • The Great British Bake Off
  • Gogglebox
