David Tennant On Peter Capaldi In Doctor Who: "I'm So Excited To See Him"

During the TV Critics Association Press Tour event yesterday, David Tennant took time out to talk to Zap2It about his anticipation of Peter Capaldi's take on the Doctor in Doctor Who.

Fans saw Peter take over from outgoing Doctor Matt Smith on Christmas Day last year, and Peter has spent most of the spring and summer of 2014 filming the new series alongside Jenna Coleman, who plays companion Clara.

Former Doctor David said that he and Peter had spoken about his new role. "I'm so excited to see him and he's been in touch a lot and had such a great time," he said, though he didn't mention if he'd passed on any advice to the new Time Lord.

However, David isn't using any past privileges to grab a sneak peek at the new episodes through showrunner Steven Moffat.
"No, I wouldn't really want to," he said. Nor has he succumbed to the temptation to seek out the new episodes online. "Apparently it's all leaked online, so it's all available! But I haven't. I wouldn't know where to look, so I haven't found it."

Doctor Who Series 8 premieres on BBC One and BBC America on Saturday 23rd August.

David Tennant's new TV series Gracepoint premieres on Thursday 2nd October at 9pm/8c on Fox
