GERMANY: Gracepoint Starring David Tennant To Air On Sky Atlantic from May

Good news for German fans - Sky have announced that they have picked up the rights to air the ten part US drama Gracepoint starring David Tennant. The drama is closely based on the UK's worldwide hit Broadchurch, which also starred David and sees him reprise his role as the lead investigator in the hunt for the killer of a young boy in a small coastal town. The series will air on Sky Atlantic on Tuesday nights at 21:00 starting from May 26th.

Viewers can also watch via Sky Go, Sky Online and Sky Anytime.

Gracepoint takes the central plot of Broadchurch and transfers the action to the northern Californian resort of Gracepoint. Alec Hardy becomes Detective Emmett Carver, a new arrival in town who takes the job his colleague Ellie Miller (Anna Gunn) expected to be hers. However, the feuding pair are thrown together when the body of a local boy, Danny Solano, is discovered beneath cliffs on the beach. Soon a murder hunt is underway that threatens to tear the small community apart as the investigation and accompanying press scrutiny bring long-held secrets to the surface. It seems as if anyone could have committed the crime. The cast also includes Nick Nolte, Jacki Weaver, Kevin Rankin and Michael Peña. Gracepoint expands and develops the plot of the original, adding new characters, new twists and a new ending.

Original series creator Chris Chibnall wrote the first episode and executive produced the drama, while the team of directors includes James Strong and Euros Lyn, both of whom also worked on Broadchurch.
