VIDEO: David Tennant Clips Shown During NYCC Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Panel

A couple of brief clips showing David Tennant in action as the Fugitoid in season 4 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were shown at New York Comic Con last weekend and are included on the video of the Nickelodeon show's panel.

David voices Professor Zayton Honeycutt, a renegade scientist whose mind is housed inside an android after his body was destroyed. The character was first introduced in the closing minutes of the season 3 finale as he arrived in his spaceship to save the Turtles from certain death. The new season will see the Turtles and Fugitoid travel together in a story arc that covers more than half of the episodes, visiting New York and Dimension X and travelling through space and time. David joins regular cast Seth Green, Greg Cipes, Sean Astin and Rob Paulsen and fellow guest stars Peter Stormare, Zelda Williams, and Michael Dorn.

Executive producers Ciro Nielo and Brandon Auman spoke of their delight at securing David to play the role.

"He is amazing," said Nieli. "David Tennant just came together with that design and owned it."

Auman admitted that they had not expected him to sign up for the part. "We were shocked that we could even get David Tennant. We were, OK, let's just shoot for the moon and see if we can get him, and he wanted to do it! He was into it, he's a Turtles fan!"

"How appropriate that he does a little bit of time travel," added panel host Andre Meadows.

The new season premieres on Nickelodeon in the USA on Sunday 25th October at 11.00am ET/PT.
