As our review of 2015 picks up after the Christmas break, we take a look at the David Tennant news stories from July. As production on Marvel's Jessica Jones drew to a close, the promotional work began. David had been busy in voice roles during the year too, and two new animation projects were revealed this month.

David voiced an evil genie called Dread in an episode of the
popular Disney pre-school show Jake And The Never Land Pirates
David was still in New York working on Marvel’s Jessica
Jones and was photographed filming scenes with Mike Colter, who plays Luke
Cage. Marvel also released the first official shots from the drama showing Krysten
Ritter as Jessica and Mike Colter in the aftermath of a dramatic explosion.
Meanwhile, Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television was
interviewed at San Diego Comic Con and promised viewers a real treat when the series was released, praising the high
quality writing, cast and production. “Krysten Ritter is killing it,”
he said. “And when people get a hold of what David Tennant is doing
as Kilgrave..."
David Tennant and Krysten Ritter attended the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Press Conference for Marvel’s Jessica Jones, just before the series wrap party. The series was
also presented to the press at the TCA Summer Press Tour in Beverly Hills by Jeph Loeb and showrunner
Melissa Rosenberg, who revealed that David was always at the top of their list
for the role of Kilgrave.

At SDCC it emerged that David was a number of special guest
stars for the new season of Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He would be voicing fan favourite character Professor Zayton Honeycutt, a.k.a.
The Fugitoid. A short video, first shown at the TMNT panel and later released online gave fans a first look at David in action as the character.
Broadchurch seasons 1 and 2 premiered in Poland on Ale Kino+
Film
The comedy feature What We Did On Our Holiday had a limited North American release across the USA and Canada and was also available via on
demand services. It was also released in cinemas in the Netherlands.
The short film 96 Ways To Say I Love You had its American
premiere
at the Downtown Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Awards
David and his shows Broadchurch and W1A all made it through
to the shortlists for the 2015 TV Choice Awards.
Miscellaneous
David was one of many celebrities backing the Save The Arctic campaign, and a series of photos taken by Any Gotts made up an
exhibition on display at Waterloo Station in London.
