Other main characters include Prof's girlfriend, Val (Sue Johnson "The Royle Family"), love struck young copper Darwin, (David Tennant), and the object of his affections, Marilyn (Samantha Beckinsale, "London's Burning").

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Star On David Tennant: "A World Class Actor"

Image
When season 4 of Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles resumes next month, it will sadly be without the Fugitoid, the fan favourite character brought to vibrant life by the vocal talents of David Tennant. The cyborg scientist had been the gang's mentor and protector during the first 14 episodes of this season, which saw the Turtles travelling in space and time in an attempt to avert the destruction of Earth seen at the climax of season 3.

The TMNT cast were on hand at last weekend's San Diego Comic Con to discuss the characters' return to New York, and Rob Paulsen, who voices Donatello, took the opportunity to pay a final tribute to David.

"Not only do you get to work with your buddies, but having David Tennant on our show, even though he was not in the room with us, they had to record him from Scotland or England, but David ‘freaking’ Tennant!" he said. "He is a world class actor from every angle and that was a huge thrill for me, just to be able to…

Image
The producers of David Tennant's upcoming feature film Mad To Be Normal have released a new set of photos to the project's IMDB page. The images feature David and fellow cast members including Elisabeth Moss, David Bamber, Linda Hargreaves and Aaron Taylor.

Mad To Be Normal is set in the 1960s and stars David as the renowned Scottish psychiatrist Ronnie Laing, the so called acid-Marxist who rejected the accepted medical model of mental illness in order to focus on the personal emotional journeys of each of his patients. In 1965, Laing and a group of colleagues created the Philadelphia Association and started a unique psychiatric community project at Kingsley Hall, where patients and therapists lived together. He was often criticised for his techniques, which included the occasional use of the drug LSD.
The film, which also stars Michael Gambon and Gabriel Byrne, was filmed at various locations across Yorkshire and London earlier this year. The movie is a Gizmo Films production…

VOTE: Twenty Twelve & W1A Included In 21st Century Sitcom Poll

Image
Two comedy shows narrated by David Tennant have been included in a new poll to determine the nation's favourte sitcom of the 21st Century to date. Twenty Twelve and W1A, created by John Morton and starring Hugh Bonneville and Jessica Hynes, are hilarious spoof fly-on-the-wall documentaries that poke fun at the labyrinthine management structures and ridiculous personas that too often populate the modern workplace. David's tongue-in-cheek voiceover is a notable feature of both series.

The poll of 40 sitcoms has been launched by Radio Times in conjunction with the BFI and also includes Extras, Peter Kay's Car Share, The IT Crowd, The Thick Of It and Friday Night Dinner. Polling runs until Thursday 11th August.

Image
A major new Royal Shakespeare Company family attraction, The Play's The Thing, will open in October, just in time for the half term school break. The interactive exhibition will be located in the Swan Wing of the RSC's theatres in Stratford-upon-Avon, marking the culmination of the restoration of the oldest part of the building, which dates from 1879. The Play's The Thing will be the RSC's first ever permanent exhibition devoted to the staging of Shakespeare’s plays.

Many famous faces have performed at the RSC and the exhibition includes costumes worn by David Tennant, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Dame Helen Mirren, Sir Laurence Olivier, Paul Robeson and Vivien Leigh.
