David Tennant Review Of The Year: March 2016



We continue our review of the year today with a look back at the month of March.

The month kicked off with a trailer for the eagerly anticipated Big Finish Tenth Doctor audio adventures.




The trailer featured previews of all three releases – Doctor Who: Technophobia by Matt Fitton, Doctor Who: Time Reaver by Jenny Colgan and Doctor Who: Death and the Queen by James Goss.


It was announced that Shakespeare Live!, hosted by David Tennant, was to be screened in cinemas across the UK and Europe on 23rd April. Tickets for the event went on sale a few days later.


David was the Guest Announcer on the hugely popular ITV entertainment show Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, where he also joined in with the usual fun and games...



It was announced that David was to reprise his role as Jimmy Porter in Look Back In Anger for BBC Radio 4 to celebrate the play's 60th anniversary. David had previously played the role on stage back in 2005.


David also celebrated a key event in his theatre career this month when he made his US stage debut by bringing his award winning performance as Richard II to New York.
David performed the play just ten times at BAM in Brooklyn, making this one of the hottest tickets in town for his US fans.

To round off the month David and Catherine Tate appeared on the cover of Doctor Who Magazine, in which they were interviewed about the new Big Finish Tenth Doctor audio adventures.

Also in March:
Actor Patrick Baladi revealed that David Tennant was in the running for his part in the hit series The Office with Ricky Gervais.
The Politician's Husband aired in France and Germany.
Wizard World announced David would make an appearance at the fan con in Madison.
David was interviewed by Time Out New York.
The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang novels narrated by David were finally released in the UK.
Doctor Who arrived on Amazon Prime to stream in the USA.
FUNKO revealed they were working on a Kilgrave POP! Vinyl figure.
A King & Country DVD box set was announced.
